Android – The Most Targeted Platform for Malware
A new study has found Android being the most targeted platform for mobile malware.
rel=“nofollow”>The popular anti-virus company McAfee has released its study on mobile malware attacks in the name of Second Quarter 2011 Threats Report. This report claims that Google’s Android has overtaken Java Micro Edition as the most attacked mobile platform.
According to this report about 60 percent of mobile threats were aimed at Android. It has jumped 76 percent since the first quarter. Java holds the second spot, while Symbian is the third most vulnerable mobile platform. However, Apple’s iOS and HP’s webOS have managed to remain untouched by malware during the second quarter.
McAfee analyzed 1,200 mobile malware samples to prepare this report.
