Gmail for Android Updated
Google has updated the Android version of Gmail with many new features.
Google has an Android app for its email service Gmail. This app was updated on Friday with several new features that promise to bring performance improvements, while providing customization facility. In the Gmail 2.3.5, there is an option not to ‘Show Pictures’ for faster load times and to avoid opening images from untrusted sources. Users can hear personalized ringtones for label notifications now.
The better ‘Priority Box’ is said to be the highlight of this update. Priority Inbox is a folder in Gmail accounts that separates the most important messages. Now users can synchronize email messages inside the Priority Inbox only. This new feature gives users more battery life due to less data bandwidth.
The Gmail app for Android has already crossed 10 million downloads. Users can download this update directly from the Android Market for free. It is available for the devices running Android 2.2 or higher.
