Personalize Your SMS and Calls with Blown up Pictures Using PicDial: Social Photo SMS
Everyone of us likes to customize the display of the phone book on our Android phone. We also like to keep track of the status updates of our beloved ones every single minute. Wouldn’t it be really nice to see your friends’ profile pictures and status updates automatically? Yes, you can, with the help of PicDial app.
PicDial: Social Photo SMS is a social app that has multiple features. It pulls out your friends’ Facebook or MySpace photos and status updates to display them as their caller IDs on your Android phone. The app displays the name, phone number, a large picture of the person who calls and his/her latest status update on Facebook or MySpace. The profile picture shows up in full screen for every outgoing call too.
The biggest feature of this app is that you can receive instant SMS popups with your friends’ profile pictures and status updates whenever your friends send you a message. It displays your friends’ social network profile picture and status on the top half of the screen and the text thread on the bottom half.
You have options to choose your friends’ pictures either from the social networking profile or from your device’s gallery. You can crop, fix or alter any picture you select. You can also speed dial or text your friends by selecting their image from the PicDial favorite screen.
Another cool feature in this app is the auto-reply which will update your status in Facebook or MySpace if you are busy. There are also many other options like contacts backup, support for vCards, text spell check, speech to text function and a lot more in this app.
PicDial: Social Photo SMS has a neatly designed layout. The navigational elements are quite good to work with. But I noticed that the app is a bit slow while uploading profile pictures from social networking sites to the favorite screen. However the fact that this app can make your calls and texts more social cannot be denied.
This app is available for free in Google Play and it requires an Android version of 2.1 and above.
