Micromax Canvas Express 2: Mobile Review
The Canvas Express 2 Builds on the Success of its Predecessor
The Canvas Xpress 2 is a definite upgrade in almost all respects from its predecessor, so fans of the original considering moving up will definitely see the value. The Canvas Xpress 2 has a 5-inch panel, 1,280 x 720 pixel display, improving on its predecessor. The biggest change that’s immediately noticeable besides the display is the amount of camera power on-board: original 5MP camera has been upgraded to modern standards with a dual-LED, 13MP flash camera, as well as a 2MP front facing camera.
The phone has 1GB of RAM, expandable to 8GB of expandable storage. For some reason, the phone can be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop, but has Android 4.4 out of the box. The Canvas Xpress 2 comes with the standard suite of connectivity options including Bluetooth, WiFi, and 3G. The phone has GPS, as well as specialized software for an improved audio experience, among other conveniences.
The battery is of moderate strength at 2,500mAh. At the price of $93, it’s hard to find a full-featured phone at such a low price packed with this many features.
Verdict: If you were a fan of the Canvas Xpress, the Xpress 2 is worth a look and is worth your time. Considering the cost and the leap in improvements, an upgrade is definitely in order.
