Samsung Galaxy Note to Get Android 4.0 Update in Q2 2012
Samsung has recently announced that its Galaxy Note will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich during the second quarter (Q2) of this year. The upgrade will come as a ‘Premium Suite’ with extra features and a bunch of new applications.
The Galaxy Note was launched in September 2011. It has a 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display. The digital S pen allows users to write and draw on the screen directly. Samsung said that the upgrade will deliver an excellent user interface with a redesigned menu. The upgrade also comes with new features like Face Unlock, Snapshot and Android Beam features.
Two new apps namely ‘S Note’ and ‘My story’ that are designed specifically for the Galaxy Note will also be introduced. S Note is an app that allows users to combine their notes and sketches with other digital content. My story lets users create their own digital cards using voice, text, notes, photos or video. The upgrade will also bring a free copy of the new Angry Birds space app.
JK Shin, president of mobile communications at Samsung said, “Galaxy Note continues to delight customers all over the world with its incredible versatility and unique user experience. With the Premium Suite upgrade, we wanted to add features that enrich users’ Note experience even more, including the great advantages of Android 4.0 and innovative applications for S Pen.”
